Image to PDF
Make one PDF from pictures of any common type: PNG screenshots, WebP images, HEIC photos and JPGs can all go in together.
How the files you choose are handled is set out in the privacy policy.
How to convert pictures to PDF
- Tap Choose pictures and select the files. Different types can be mixed.
- Arrange them with the arrow buttons. One picture becomes one page.
- Choose a page size and margin.
- Press Make PDF and save or share the file.
What it is useful for
- Screenshots. Send a conversation, a set of instructions or an order confirmation as one tidy document.
- Receipts and bills. Collect a month of expense photos into a single file for a claim.
- Homework and notes. Photograph handwritten pages and hand in one PDF.
- Portfolios. Put drawings or designs in a fixed order that the viewer cannot shuffle.
- Printing. A PDF prints the same on every printer, where loose image files often come out at odd sizes.
How each picture type is handled
| Type | In the PDF |
|---|---|
| JPG | Stored exactly as it is, with no loss |
| PNG, BMP, GIF | Stored as a high quality JPG. Transparent areas become white |
| WebP, AVIF | Stored as a high quality JPG |
| HEIC | Decoded, then stored as a high quality JPG, on devices that can read HEIC |
PDF has no way to hold WebP or HEIC data directly, so those pictures are converted on the way in. The quality setting used is high enough that text in screenshots stays crisp.
Page size and margins
Same shape as each picture gives pages with no borders, which suits screens. A4 and US Letter fit each picture onto a standard sheet for printing, turning the page sideways for wide pictures. A margin adds white space around the picture, which helps if the PDF will be printed or hole-punched.
Good to know
- Text in the pictures stays as a picture and cannot be searched.
- Very long screenshots are kept as one tall page when the page size follows the picture.
- Animated GIFs contribute their first frame.
- If you only have JPGs, JPG to PDF does the same job.
Questions
Can I mix PNG and JPG in the same PDF?
Yes. Any of the supported types can go into one PDF, in any order.
Will screenshots stay sharp?
Yes. They are stored at a high quality setting, so small text remains easy to read.
How do I make the PDF smaller?
Reduce the pictures first with the image converter, choosing a smaller size, then make the PDF from the reduced copies.
Can I add pictures after I have started?
Yes. Use Add more files under the list, then reorder as needed.
Does it work with photos from an iPhone?
Yes. JPG photos always work. HEIC photos work on devices that can decode them, and the tool tells you if yours cannot.
