JPG to PDF
Turn one or more JPG photos into a single PDF. The photos go in exactly as they are, so nothing is lost.
How the files you choose are handled is set out in the privacy policy.
How to convert JPG to PDF
- Tap Choose JPG photos and select the pictures. You can add more afterwards.
- Put them in order with the arrow buttons. Each photo becomes one page.
- Choose a page size and a margin.
- Press Make PDF, then Save PDF or Share.
Why the photos lose no quality
A PDF can hold a JPG inside it in its original form. This tool does exactly that: each photo is placed in the PDF as the same data that is in the JPG file. Nothing is re-compressed, so the picture in the PDF is identical to the one you started with, and the PDF is about the same size as the photos added together.
Many converters decode each photo and compress it again, which both lowers the quality and takes longer.
Choosing a page size
| Page size | What you get | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Same shape as each picture | Every page is exactly the shape of its photo, with no white borders | Viewing on screens, sharing in chats |
| A4 | Standard paper in most of the world. Each photo is fitted onto the sheet | Printing, official forms outside North America |
| US Letter | Standard paper in the United States and Canada | Printing and forms in North America |
On A4 and Letter, a wide photo gets a sideways page and a tall photo gets an upright one, so each fills as much of the sheet as it can.
Photographing documents
A common use is turning phone photos of paperwork into one PDF for an application or a claim. A few habits make the result much better:
- Lay the page flat in even light and avoid your own shadow.
- Hold the phone directly above the page so the edges are square.
- Fill the frame with the page.
- If a website limits the PDF size, make the photos smaller first with the image converter, at 1920 pixels and Medium quality.
Good to know
- Sideways phone photos are turned the right way up on the page.
- The text in a photographed document stays a picture. It cannot be selected or searched in the PDF.
- For PNG, WebP or HEIC pictures, use image to PDF.
Questions
Can I put several JPGs in one PDF?
Yes. Select them all at once or add them a few at a time. They become pages in the order shown in the list, which you can rearrange.
Why is my PDF so large?
It contains your photos at full quality, so it is about as big as they are together. To reduce it, shrink the photos first with the image converter and then make the PDF.
How do I change the page order?
Use the up and down arrows beside each file name before pressing Make PDF.
Will the PDF be A4?
If you choose A4 as the page size. The default makes each page the shape of its photo, which looks better on screens.
Can I turn the PDF back into pictures?
Yes, with PDF to JPG.
