HEIC to PDF
Turn iPhone HEIC photos into one PDF that opens anywhere, one photo to a page.
This free online HEIC to PDF converter runs in your browser, with nothing to install and no account. Add multiple HEIC photos in bulk to turn the whole batch into one PDF. How the files you choose are handled is set out in the privacy policy.
How to convert HEIC to PDF
- Tap Choose HEIC photos and select the files.
- Put them in order with the arrow buttons. Each photo becomes one page.
- Choose a page size and a margin.
- Press Make PDF, then Save PDF or Share.
Why turn HEIC photos into a PDF
HEIC is the format iPhones and iPads save photos in by default. It is efficient, but upload forms for applications, claims and coursework rarely accept it, and Windows needs an add-on to open it. A PDF is accepted almost everywhere, and it keeps several pages together in a fixed order.
That makes HEIC to PDF the short route for anything you photograph to send: a signed form, a set of receipts, pages of handwritten notes, an identity document.
What you get
- Full resolution. Each photo is decoded and stored in the PDF as a high quality JPG, at its full size in pixels.
- The right way up. The rotation stored with the photo is applied.
- No location data. The date, camera details and location inside the HEIC file are not copied into the PDF.
- One page per photo. A Live Photo contributes its still picture only.
Which devices can convert HEIC
A HEIC photo is compressed with HEVC, the method used for 4K video, and decoding it needs support from the device. Most phones and computers made since about 2017 have it. Use a current version of Chrome or Edge. If your device cannot decode a photo, the tool names it and makes the PDF from the others.
If none of them can be read, convert on the iPhone itself, or share the photos to yourself by email, which usually sends them as JPG. Then use JPG to PDF.
Photographing documents
Since most HEIC files that need to become a PDF are photos of paper, a few habits make the result much better:
- Lay the page flat in even light and keep your own shadow off it.
- Hold the phone directly above the page so the edges are square, and fill the frame with it.
- Choose A4 or US Letter with a small margin if the PDF will be printed.
- Phone photos are large. If a form limits the size of the PDF, run the result through compress PDF.
| Page size | What you get | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| Same shape as each picture | Every page is exactly the shape of its picture, with no white borders | Reading on a screen, sharing in a chat |
| A4 | Each picture is fitted onto a standard sheet, turned sideways if the picture is wide | Printing, and forms outside North America |
| US Letter | The same, on the standard sheet of the United States and Canada | Printing and forms in North America |
Questions
Can I put several HEIC photos in one PDF?
Yes. Select them all at once or add them a few at a time. They become pages in the order shown in the list, which you can rearrange.
The tool says my device cannot decode HEIC. What now?
Try a newer phone or computer in Chrome or Edge. Alternatively, on the iPhone, share the photos by email or to the Files app, which usually sends them as JPG, and convert those instead.
Why is the PDF larger than the HEIC photos?
HEIC compresses about twice as well as JPG, and the photos are stored in the PDF as high quality JPG. Use compress PDF afterwards if the size matters.
Does it work on Windows and Android?
On most recent devices, yes, in Chrome or Edge. It depends on whether the device itself can decode HEVC.
Can I get JPG files instead of a PDF?
Yes, with HEIC to JPG.
